With this change, Microsoft will also block all injection-based plugins in Outlook for Mac for both Microsoft 365 and Outlook 2019. With the release of MacOS Mojave and Catalina, Apple blocked most injection-based plugins from running due to security & stability concerns. Injection-based native plugins such as Webex, Zoom and Vera will be disabled. So if you are still struggling, make sure the Mac user has their Outlook version up to date.In the May 2021 release of Outlook for Mac, only the add-ins from the Microsoft AppSource store will continue to work. This is because at the time, shared mailboxes were not supported: The Mac user was using the version of Outlook bundled with Microsoft Office 365. I figured this out because in March 2021 I created a shared mailbox in an Exchange Online (office 365) admin center (no on-premise) and while Outlook users using Windows were able to get the shared mailbox to show up, one Mac user was not able to get the mailbox to show up. Prior to September 2021, this was not possible.
